Rivers Day Volunteers,
On 2007 September 30 from 9-4 at Williams Park in Langley LEPS
will be hosting the annual BC Rivers Day Festival.
We are in desperate need of volunteers for this exciting event.
Students can use this opportunity to receive CAPP hours and all
volunteers receive a free breakfast, gifts and cool T-Shirts.

VOLUNTEER AT THE BC Rivers Day FestivaL @ WILLIAMS
PARK AND HAVE FUN!!
Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS) and the Township
of Langley are looking for energetic individuals to help out with
this year's annual Rivers Day Festival! The celebration will take
place on Sunday, September 30th, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. Volunteers are needed from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
This opportunity is suitable for folks who like to give LEPS a
hand, are interested in special events or teaching and working
with children, OR for those who enjoy talking to the public and
engaging in fun community activities!
This is also an ideal opportunity for students interested in pursuing
a career in the environmental protection/ conservation field.
Volunteers at the Rivers Day Festival will learn about local projects
and programs related to our watersheds. It also provides the opportunity
to network with local organizations and businesses in the field;
some of which include the Mountainview Conservation Centre, Langley
Field Naturalists, Vancity, Ladybug Organics, and many more.
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with the following
tasks:
Facilitate streamside treeplanting (2)
Host the t-shirt painting booth (6)
Assist Yukon Dan with goldpanning (3)
Greet people and provide information at the Welcome Booth (2)
Chat with the public and gather feedback about the event (2)
Host the Creek Peek booth, displaying aquatic insects and the
Vancouver Aquarium AquaKit (2)
Facilitate the life-sized Salmon Board Game (2)
Volunteer Benefits:
For volunteering at the Rivers Day Festival, individuals will
receive a free tshirt and cool giveaways. Breakfast (8:30am
until 10:30am) and Lunch will be provided. Enter the volunteer
prize draw to win good stuff!
