Sixer / Second (FLEX) Training Camp    (14th Annual)

2011 Oct 29, Saturday, 9am - 330pm.   Location Williams Park.   Nicomekl Area will be holding their own FLEX training, for Sixers, Seconds, Keeos, and any other mature Cubs, on October 29th at Williams’ Park (6596-6726 238 St Langley). Packs are responsible for their own youth / leader ratios. Everyone should show in full uniform, but also dressed for the weather. There will be a Sixers’ Council meeting running from 245-330pm, at which a theme for Cuboree, and dates for future Area Sixers’ Council meetings will be decided. Cost of this training is free. Registration numbers are due at October’s Scouters’ Club. Packs are responsible for their own lunch and snacks.
All Nicomekl Area 2nd & 3rd year Cubs (typically ages 9 & 10) are invited to participate.  The Cubs have fun learning about leadership.   We need parents to cook & for station help.  Delivering one of the sessions can be lots of fun.  We can provide you with the information you need, and an outline to follow.  All you need do is ask.
There is a Council FLEX (Fun Learning Experience) training for Cubs at Camp McLean on October 21st to 23rd. Cost is $25. This new National training course is a youth course that teaches leadership skills for Keeos, Sixers, Seconds, and any other Cubs through a variety of fun teamwork games. It is meant to be taught by older youth. Contact for this course is Mathew Czajka, mczajka@hotmail.com.

Message from Ed: 2008 Oct 04:
I have put together a package for Sixer/Second Training, to be held at Ponder Park on November 1st. There have been a few sessions added after discussion in years past... The main training is being held on Saturday, with no events scheduled for Friday or Sunday, however Packs are invited to camp for the weekend if they wish. Like CubStart, individual Packs are responsible for their own gear, food, medical forms, first aid, and Leader/youth ratios. Please attempt to come in as light as possible, as we are not supposed to drive vehicles into camp. Cost of this event will be $5.00, to cover the cost of a crest (to be designed at camp). This event is open to Cubs who are Sixers or Seconds, or will become Sixers or Seconds in the upcoming year. Keeos are also invited to attend, as the Keeo training is similar to Sixer/Second Training.

Please find attached a copy of the schedule and the training booklet (which each Sixer/Second should have a copy of of).

Tentative numbers are due at Scouters' Club. Money is due at camp.

Any questions, or offers of service, feel free to contact me at 604.996.4120 or by email at bigkeeo@shaw.ca.

Thanks!
