This is extra coverage is for leaders & parents driving the youth to camps & other events.  Scouts Canada's liability insurance does not apply to the transporting of our members.  Coverage of $15,000,000.00 costs your Scout group $20 per year (minimum).  If you have seven members on your executive, then this policy will cost you $21 ($3 each).  This policy cannot be applied to group owned vehicles.     www.icbc.com

Waivers & Our Indemnity Agreement

We would like to remind Scouters that when your Group/Section is planning an outing, which may involve organizations external to Scouting, that Scouts Canada members are NOT permitted to sign any waivers or hold harmless agreements.

Please refer to the most up-to-date list of organizations that have been approved and have signed Scouts Canada’s Indemnification Agreement.

Should you make use of an outdoor organization that is not on the list, please contact your Council Field Executive who will be able to assist you in arranging for an Indemnification Agreement between Scouts Canada and the organization.

Keep in mind that this may take some time to get the organization to sign Scouts Canada’s Indemnification Agreement, therefore plan early.
