Cub
Start Camp
Our first major Area event for the year is CubStart Camp, planned
for the weekend of September 23rd through 25th, at Camp McLean (20315
16 Avenue, Langley South). This camp is a great way for all youth
(and adults!) to learn some basic camping and outdoor Scouting skills.
We have revamped the schedule, to add more advanced sessions for
the older youth, and all sessions qualify towards numerous badge
requirements! We have some volunteers for a few stations, but are
still in need of a number of stations to be filled. We are also
in desperate need of a cook, cooks assistants, and a camp chief...

7888 - 200 Street. All of our members are welcome to come
and spend an hour or two with us at any time of the day. We
hand out helium balloons and pamphlets to the public. It's

As you may know, Nicomekl Area has
9 youth and 1 Advisor going to the World
Jamboree in Sweden this Summer. We are holding a fundraising
dinner and silent auction on Saturday, April
30 at St. Marks Anglican Church 12953 20th Ave. Surrey.
There will be a fully catered buffet
dinner and live music cash bar and a large silent auction
as well as a toonie toss and a ballon pop tickets are $35.00 per
person. If you are interested please let me know and I will hold
tickets for you. Hope you can come out and support our youth.

The Nicomekl Youth
Forum met on October 27, and one thing that came up in
their planning was a goal session. They would like to set a goal
of having all the Venturer Companies to achieve the Blue
and Gold Award this year.

Hi Nicomekl Scouters.
Please pass this along to any Scouters who are new to their sections
and who have not yet received training in that Section. On November
26, 27, & 28, Nicomekl Area will be hosting a Wood
Badge I course at Camp McLean. This will be your last
opportunity to get WB1 training until the late Spring. Wood Badge
training greatly increases your effectiveness as a leader which,
in turn, creates a better Scouting experience for your youth. Please
